How do I log-in to the BIR?
From the main BIR page, in the upper right hand corner click on Login. Members of the Brandeis community can log-in using their UNet IDs. Please leave off the @brandeis.edu when logging in.
I’ve logged in but I don’t see an option to submit.
Logging in does not necessarily confer submitting privileges. Please visit the following pages for instructions on depositing in the repository, depending on your status:

Are items posted in the BIR open to the public?
Generally, items placed in the BIR are openly available to the public. We do allow for embargoes of student theses and dissertations, but the length of those embargoes are dependent on your department’s guidelines. The BIR does not currently allow deposits for self-archiving purposes only. For Open Access articles, the BIR follows all guidelines set forth by publishers.
What is a community? How do I find what I’m looking for?
The BIR runs on repository software called DSpace. DSpace uses a community structure to organize groups; a department or center becomes a community, and those communities can have many collections. For example, Archives & Special Collections is a community, with many collections such as the Middlesex University picture collection. The community structure attempts to mirror the university structure.
You can search for anything in the BIR by simply entering your search term in the search box. The search box is always on the right-hand side of the page.
